Two weeks ago - II
Filed in Life | Comments OffMonday, March 3rd:
My younger sister arrived today and we headed to Movenpick to spirit her away from her husband. I called her first to make sure she waits for us in the lobby. Called her again to tell her to hussle and bring her own luggage down rather that wait for the bellhop.
“They (your suitcases) got wheels, don’t they?”
“Yes…”
“Then wheel them down yourself!”
By the time we arrived at the door, I gave a third call.
“You’re a real pest, you know that? We were just saying our good-byes.”
“Yeah? You should have said them before you came down. Besides, you’re a couple of hours overdue with us.”
We headed to Villagio next for lunch, shopping and a box of Krispy Kreme. It was Asma’s first taste of the Original - which she liked so much that she had another, despite her efforts to eat well for a clear complexion on the wedding day.

Filed in Life | Comments OffTo make up for my absence, I’m reporting what happened in the past two weeks, day by day. Because most entries are without photos, I’ll keep them short for an easy read.
Saturday, March 1st:
Flew to Doha, Qatar to stay at my cousin’s to attend her wedding. Her younger sister, M, picked me up from the airport, since the bride is “grounded”.
I’ll refrain from refering to her as “the bride” - it’s neither my nor her favorite title - and you’ve likely to have seen the Henna/Wedding invitations to know her name.
We’ve been friends for over 15 years, which is funny because her first impression of me was that I was spoilt.
We were attending my uncle’s wedding and she recalls, “you accused me of ruining your shoes, threatning to tell your mom. In my mind, I crossed you out with a huge red X.”
I don’t remember that particular incident, but I think we got along better cause we shared the name, inside jokes, and love for comics and videogames.

Just wanted to make a quick announcement that I’m not taking anymore commissions at the time being cause I have a few jobs at hand.
I’ll let you know when I’ll be available for hire once they’re delivered (إن شاء الله).
p.s. I also have a lengthy explanation to where I was during the past week - maybe later tonight?

Filed in News & Updates | Comments OffThis will probably be the lengthiest post for a long time, but just to explain:
The Kanji characters above are read as Osoji, a tradition practiced in Japan on New Year’s eve equivalent to Spring Cleaning, with the purpose of greeting the new year with a fresh, clean start. I don’t intend to do that every year of course; but I’d like to restart with a clean slate.
After over a year of steady blogging, always, always wondering what to post about, mopping up infinite torrents of spam for every comment, I gained some focus.
I’ve turned off comments to block future spam and deleted older comments partially to nuke never-ending waves of older spam. So, good news: you’re no longer obliged to comment.
I’ll be dealing the silent card as well; posts will be predominantly visual. To be explicit, here’s what this journal will be about:
A place to observe and appreciate colors, design, patterns, texture, shapes, and structure. Whatever it may be.
It will be uninterrupted by text unless I feel it necessary to express or explain something.
I hope you enjoy what’s to come.
