I had to delete the previous post (re: UAE Designer’s Exhibition). The person arranging it had been requested by her senior to arrange for it after Ramadan, that’s sometime after September, and she wasn’t too happy about it. Moreover, it was drawing spam comments; 583 comments to be precise, which remained invisible under moderation until I deleted them.

I’m not bothered by the fact that the exhibition date was moved, yet I find it uncanny how many things have been cancelled for me latey for circumstance outside the clients’ hands.
One client cancelled a proposal for a logo because she transferred from one department to another and was no longer in charge of the project. Another cancelled a request that I design her wedding invitation because her mother-in-law wants to have them made to her tastes. Finally, this exhibition - which I was going to participate in - is postponed.

So for the past weeks I’ve been pouring over and preparing for dead-end projects. But that’s just kismet - I suppose the past two months weren’t meant to be productive.

But that’s not the only reason I stopped blogging at the moment. My life is somewhat on hiatus now - I’m in transition. I’m busy not doing much of anything but waiting. I’m not sure what the next couple of months will be like, but all will be revealed in good time. I wish I could say more but from experience, whenever I talk about something prematurely, it doesn’t come to pass.
But to be honest, the suspense is killing me.
I guess this means more sparse updates until everything falls into place. Sorry.

I got nothing to update with cause all the news I got are pending.

So here\’s what I thought I\’d post to pass time until then:

Leave a comment telling me how you first came across this blog (or website) and I\’ll answer a question you ask in the best way I can manage.

My list of activities consists of three categories:

1. Things I want to do
2. Things I should do (even if I’m not to keen on them)
3. Things I’d do when I got nothing better to do the time

I can only juggle two at the time (usually 1 & 2), leaving 3 after I drop 2. Unfortunately, this journal falls under category 3 for the time being; sorry to say I couldn’t continue retelling the events for the past two three weeks. The entries required more time to type up (and edit) than I could afford.

I’ve just finished reading To Kill a Mockingbird. I don’t remember if I bought it before or after I saw a short scene from the film (likely before), but it’s one of those stories that doesn’t try too hard to impress you. It moves at an unhurried pace, yet contains something epic and tragic within it’s unsentimental narration.

I’m leaving the comments on in case anyone read the book and wishes to discuss it.

Just wanted to bring your attention to the side bar where I’ve added a new section: Portfolio.

Monday, March 3rd:

My younger sister arrived today and we headed to Movenpick to spirit her away from her husband. I called her first to make sure she waits for us in the lobby. Called her again to tell her to hussle and bring her own luggage down rather that wait for the bellhop.

“They (your suitcases) got wheels, don’t they?”
“Yes…”
“Then wheel them down yourself!”

By the time we arrived at the door, I gave a third call.

“You’re a real pest, you know that? We were just saying our good-byes.”
“Yeah? You should have said them before you came down. Besides, you’re a couple of hours overdue with us.”

We headed to Villagio next for lunch, shopping and a box of Krispy Kreme. It was Asma’s first taste of the Original - which she liked so much that she had another, despite her efforts to eat well for a clear complexion on the wedding day.
